Sarah's Take: Jim Leyritz
10-29-00 In June the Los Angeles Dodgers acquired Jim Leyritz from the world champion New York Yankees for Jose Vizcaino. Known for his World Series heroics, Leyritz had some game-winning pinch hits. In 41 games for the Dodgers he batted .200 with a home run and eight RBI. Defensively he was a catcher, first baseman and a left fielder, and he did satisfactorily. His season ended early with a torn rotator cuff. At 36 Leyritz is a free agent, and it is doubtful that the Dodgers will re-sign him.
